Rapper LIL' KIM was awarded $500,000 (GBP250,000) on Wednesday (14May08) after winning a lawsuit launched against a former friend.
The star filed suit against former Junior M.A.F.I.A. member James Lloyd - who testified against her in a criminal trial that led to her conviction for lying to a grand jury in 2005.
Kim originally sought $6 million (GBP3million) in damages for the unauthorised use of her name and image in a DVD about the rap group, produced by Lloyd's company Ground Zero, to capitalise on her fame.
The 32 year-old rapper was released from a Philadelphia prison in July 2006 after being sentenced to one year and one day for conspiracy and perjury regarding her relationship with friends involved in a 2001 New York shooting.
